Tablet, Computer, and Smartphone Test
W Shillington W Shillington My next test was to connect the StormBox Micro 2 to my tablet. Like the phone, the tablet paired quickly and connected to the speaker. I accessed my Netflix account and watched a movie. The sound output proved to be excellent. In further tests, I paired the Micro 2 to both my laptop and desktop. The new speaker easily outperformed the laptop’s built-in speakers and worked well with my main computer.
Projector Test
I tested the Micro 2 in conjunction with the projector mounted to my dining room ceiling. The speaker connected quickly via Bluetooth. I placed it across the room, just below the projector’s screen, and set its volume to 80%. W Shillington While the projector’s built-in 5-watt speaker boasts good volume, it is nowhere near as crisp and clear as the sound produced by the StormBox Micro 2. I, of course, do not plan to use this speaker with my projector. Although reasonably loud and able to emit decent bass, it cannot compete with my powerful subwoofer-equipped soundbar. After three hours of use, the LEDs measuring the speaker’s battery level had dropped from five bars to four.
Overall Impression
While this tiny speaker’s volume will not blow you away, it is quite loud and it punches slightly above its weight when reproducing frequencies in the bass range. The output of the Micro 2 is crisp, clear, and enjoyable.
