There’s no doubt that LinkedIn is one of the leading networking platforms for connecting professionals from different industries. Users can use its built-in messaging platform and InMail feature to connect with a potential partner or client.  However, the built-in messaging platform isn’t always working and many users report having issues with it.  If you are reading this, we can assume that your messages are not sending on LinkedIn.  This can be a problem if you are running a campaign for your business and need to connect with professionals and individuals for potential opportunities.  Usually, this issue is caused by server-related problems. 1. Check LinkedIn Servers. 

When you face issues with LinkedIn or any other online service, the first thing you should do is check for server-related problems. This way, you’ll know whether the error is coming from your end or their side.  Fortunately, LinkedIn has a dedicated status page that you can check whenever you encounter problems with the platform.  If there are ongoing issues with the servers, the best thing you can do is wait it out. Sadly, server-related problems can’t be addressed on your end. On the other hand, you can proceed to the next solution if the servers are fine. 

2. Restart Your Device. 

Before tweaking your configurations, you can try restarting your device if you are experiencing issues with LinkedIn’s built-in messaging platform. This should allow your device to reload its resources and resolve temporary errors that occurred during use.  For iOS: For Android:  For Windows:  For Mac:  Once done, go back to LinkedIn and try using the messaging service again. 

3. Check Your Network Connection. 

Slow or unstable networks could also be the reason your messages are not sending on LinkedIn. Since you are using an online service, stable internet is a must to enjoy LinkedIn’s features.  To confirm if your network is the culprit, perform a test using Fast.com to measure your network’s upload and download bandwidth.  If the result indicates a problem with your connection, we recommend power cycling your router to refresh the link with your service provider. Unplug your router from the outlet and wait for 5 to 10 seconds before reconnecting it.  Once done, re-run the test to check if the problem is solved. If not, contact your provider and ask them to fix the issue. 

4. Disable Browser Extensions. 

If you’re using a web browser to access LinkedIn, you might want to check your extensions and disable the ones you’ve installed recently. A web extension could be interfering with LinkedIn’s process causing your messages not to get sent.  Here’s what you need to do:  Restart your browser and try using LinkedIn to confirm if the problem is solved. 

5. Turn Off VPN. 

Virtual private networks are third-party services that protect your network and data from harmful entities online. They work by masking your IP address and filtering your activity to keep sensitive data secured.  However, some VPNs are not optimized and could cause issues with your network and affect its stability.  If you’re experiencing problems with LinkedIn, try turning off your VPN.  On the other hand, you can also consider switching to other providers if your current VPN keeps giving you problems. 7. Update LinkedIn. 

If you are using a mobile device, we suggest updating the LinkedIn app. This way, you can ensure that you are running the latest version and there are no underlying bugs and errors on your device.  For iOS:  For Android:  Go back to the app afterward and see if you can now send messages on the platform. 

8. Reinstall LinkedIn. 

If the update did not work, you can also try reinstalling the LinkedIn app on your device. Some of its resources may have gotten corrupted and the update can no longer fix them.  Here’s what you need to do:  Go to the App Store or Play Store on your device and download the latest version of LinkedIn. 

9. Contact LinkedIn Support. 

At this point, the last thing you can do is seek help from professionals. Head to LinkedIn’s support page and contact their team to ask for assistance.
